(Note: This was Bart Merrill's and John Schmechel's last year as a full time Condors.)
"I was fortunate to play with the Condors while attending UCSB and with the Flying Circus after graduation when the Circus won the National Title in '85. The 2 teams certainly provided for a study in contrasts. The teams were quite analogous to the great Lakers-Celtics rivalry of the 80's; the Condors with the wide open fast-break style and the Circus with the controlled half-count offense and rough-style D. Despite winning the national title with the Circus, I will always credit TK, Bob Austin, JK, Bozeman and other Condors for teaching me the skills, pride and integrity of the game."
