Favorite Type of Play:
Playing man defense is simply a test of will between two players. You can't beat that. I also love to play the wing position in zone and the challenge of not letting it break up your half of the field. Constantly adjusting to your opponents, your teammates and the sideline, often without knowing exactly where any of them are at any given time, is great fun. On offense I love being at the front of the stack when running our endzone offense.

Reason for playing ultimate:
To spend hundreds of hours training and thousands of dollars a year on equipment and travel to have people ask me if there are dogs involved.
|
When and where started playing ultimate:
I started playing in the fall of 1995, my first year in college. They were holding club sign-ups at the student union and there was a video playing of 1993 Open finals with NYNY. After watching it for a few minutes I was amazed at the athleticism involved and the potential for sick plays. I showed up to practice the following Tuesday and I've been playing ever since.

Lessons learned playing ultimate:
How to lead (as well as how not to) a team of peers with varying skill levels, commitments and backgrounds to success while still having fun and enjoying the game, and how to fill your role within a team to maximize you and your teammates potential.
